What To Expect

The service starts at 10:30 am
We have Sunday school for a smaller group meeting at 9:30 am
What Can I Expect on My First Visit?
Most adults attend one worship service where they enjoy the beautiful and inspiring music of the choir and ensembles. The music is always followed by a clear, helpful, and challenging Bible message from Pastor Murphy. This service is a little over one hour in length. Also, at 10:30 am, there are Adult Bible Classes. These classes are smaller group settings where you are invited to meet people, hear a teaching lesson more directly applicable to your life stage, and perhaps enjoy some coffee and donuts. The best way to get to know people at Open Door Baptist Church is to visit one of these Adult Bible Fellowships.
Where Do I Take My Children?
Starting with excellent nurseries, there is something special for children of all ages. At every service, there are safe, clean, and highly-staffed nurseries for children three years old and under. For the infants, we use Kid Check as a safe attendance app that allows us to contact you if there was a problem. For children four years old through sixth grade, there are fun, friendly, and Bible-centered classes. These classes are staffed with trained, friendly, and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child.
Our greeters and ushers are located in the foyer of the main worship center and will gladly help direct and even escort you to the right place.
What About My Teens?
At 9:30 am, we host a Junior High and Senior High Sunday school, and at 10:30 am, they may attend the worship service with their families. We also have student ministry midweek services on Thursdays at 7:00 pm. They’re encouraged to get involved through exciting activities and inspirational conferences.
Am I Expected To Participate In The Offering?
No. We don’t invite you to Open Door Baptist Church for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. Please don’t feel any obligation to participate in the offering
as a guest.
How Should I Dress?
There is no dress code at Open Door Baptist Church for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and much of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at Open Door.
