Jesus calls us to lift up our eyes and see that the fields are white unto harvest. In John 4:31-35, discover the priority, urgency, and procedure for being faithful witnesses in these last days, especially as younger generations show unprecedented spiritual hunger.
Lift Up Your Eyes to the Harvest (John 4:31–35)
In John 4, Jesus shifts His disciples’ attention from physical needs to spiritual urgency. While they were focused on food, Jesus said:
“I have meat to eat that ye know not of… My meat is to do the will of him that sent me.” (John 4:34)
His priority was clear—reaching souls.
The Problem: “There is still time”
Jesus warned, “Say not, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest.” Many people delay spiritual decisions and assume there will always be more time.
But Scripture is clear: time is short, and judgment is real.
The Truth: The harvest is ready
Jesus said:
“Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.” (John 4:35)
People around us are searching for truth, hope, and purpose—but many have not heard the true gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Call: Be a faithful witness
Every believer is called to share the gospel. You don’t have to be a pastor—just someone willing to speak about what Christ has done in your life.
The fields are ready. The question is simple:
What do you see?
Hurting people. Searching people. Broken people.
And we know this—hurt people often hurt people.
So let us respond the way Jesus Christ has responded to us:
with mercy, grace, and compassion.
