Meet the dedicated pastors who shepherd our congregation and lead us in worship, teaching, and ministry. They are here to serve you and help you grow in your relationship with Christ.

Senior Pastor
Pastor Jason Murphy and his wife Mary were saved and trained through the ministry of Open Door Baptist Church. Pastor Murphy graduated from the Open Door Bible Institute, and holds a Master's in Biblical Studies and a Doctorate of Ministry from Open Bible Theological Seminary. He served as an Associate Pastor at Open Door under the leadership of Dr. Ron Blue for seven years. Prior to accepting the position of Senior Pastor in 2008, he was active in evangelism in the Harbor Pointe community, located in beautiful Mukilteo. He presently resides with his family in Lynnwood. Aside from his love of the Word of God, he enjoys hiking, and spending time with his wife and children. His favorite verse is Romans 1:16. Pastor Murphy's passion is that through Open Door Baptist Church, people will be saved, grow spiritually and serve the Lord.

Assistant Pastor
A local native from Mountlake Terrace, Pastor Kurt Kennedy was saved at Open Door Baptist Church on April 14, 1996. As he grew in God's Word, Kurt began to serve in various ministries of the church, and later graduated from the Open Door Bible Institute with his Pastoral Diploma. Pastor Kurt met his wife Wendy and they were married at Open Door in 1998, and continued to serve the Lord there for some time. The Kennedy family spent a few years living and serving at a church in North Carolina, but in 2008, the Lord provided Pastor Kennedy the opportunity to join the staff of Open Door. He is excited to have his family back in Lynnwood to accept the position of Assistant Pastor. Pastor Kennedy and his wife Wendy have three children: Emily, Kevin, and Alex.

Children's Pastor
We are grateful to have Pastor Peejay Murillo and his wife Anna serving at Open Door Baptist Church as very dedicated members for many years. They have four beautiful children and reside near Brier. Pastor Peejay graduated from the Open Door Bible Institute with his Pastoral Diploma and a Masters in Biblical Studies. Wherever he goes, he talks to people about the Lord Jesus Christ. He is willing, listening, and loves to share the gospel. He enjoys reading and spending time in fellowship with his family and friends.

She lives with her family in Lynnwood with her three children: Emily, Kevin, and Alex.

Church Secretary
Mary Murphy received the Lord Jesus Christ as her Saviour in 1994. She has been on staff at Open Door Baptist Church since October 2001. She has played an integral part in helping all the pastoral staff in their administrative duties in addition to representing the church as a financial clerk.

Youth Director

He met his wife Kalyn at youth camp in high school, they were married in 2005, and have 4 daughters. In 2015, they relocated to Washington. Growing up in church as a Pastor's son, Seth has been involved in ministry for most of his life, most recently teaching adult Sunday School and serving in various other ministries at Open Door.
