Pastor Jason Murphy

Senior Pastor of Open Door Baptist Church

Pastor Jason Murphy and his wife Mary were saved and trained through the ministry of Open Door Baptist Church. Pastor Murphy earned his Pastoral Diploma upon graduating from the Open Door Bible Institute, and holds a Master’s in Biblical Studies and a Doctorate of Ministry from Open Bible College International. He served as an Associate Pastor at Open Door under the leadership of Dr. Ken Blue for seven years, prior to accepting the position of Senior Pastor in October of 2008. Pastor Murphy grew up in the Harbour Pointe community, located in beautiful Mukilteo. He presently resides with his family in Lynnwood. Aside from the ministry, Pastor enjoys golfing, fly fishing, and spending time with his wife and children. His favorite verse is Romans 1:16: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” It is Pastor Murphy’s passion that through Open Door Baptist Church, people will be saved, grow spiritually and serve the Lord.

Wendy Kennedy met her husband and now assistant pastor Kurt Kennedy at Open Door Baptist Church. Since then, she has blessed us with her talents in designing postcards, tracts, and graphics for all our church events. She lives with her family in Lynnwood and has three children: Emily, Kevin, and Ava.

Seth Stephens

Seth Stephens was born and raised in the northern suburbs of Minneapolis, Minnesota. He realized his need for Salvation and trusted Christ as his Saviour at a young age. Seth met his wife Kalyn at youth camp in high school, they were married in 2009, and have 4 daughters. In 2015, they relocated to Washington for work and fell in love with Open Door and the Pacific Northwest.

Growing up in church as a Pastor’s son, Seth has been involved in ministry for most of his life, most recently teaching adult Sunday School and serving in various other ministries at Open Door. Outside of church, Seth works as a VP for a national real estate company, loves sports (especially golf!) and being with his wife and daughters. Seth has a heart for teens and is excited to work with the youth group at Open Door
